Energy transition and sustainable port development will be two of the topics focused on at next year’s IAPH World Ports Conference.

Exploring the theme of Building Transparency, Predictability and Trust, the conference, to be hosted by the Port of Antwerp from 17-19 March 2020, will bring together executives from leading ports, their customers and stakeholders as well as regulators.

“Our intention is to reach well beyond our 170-plus port members to the wider global maritime community,” said IAPH managing director, Patrick Verhoeven.

“Key issues around trade, digitalisation, sustainable port development and energy transition in shipping depend on all parties collaborating openly with each other. IAPH plans to use the outputs generated as the basis for future policymaking,” he said.

Range of platforms

The conference will feature a mix of panel discussions, one-on-one conversations, hands-on workshops and specialised working events to showcase unique, practical insights from business leaders who have engaged in successful and sustainable cross-industry collaboration.

Sessions will be divided into four tracks to deliver a clear vision for ports worldwide on energy transition, data collaboration, reputation management and business innovation.

Following the inaugural World Ports Sustainability Program Awards at this year’s conference, the awards ceremony will take place again next year.
