Further spotlight on collaboration for day two

Further discussions on building a global partnership to improve port and shipping green credentials, follow on the success of day one of GreenPort Congress America 2018.

The day opened with presentations on how ports and ship operators can achieve environmental and sustainability success through collaboration. Discussions will move on to how ports are implementing sustainability practices in the second session of the day.

Parallel sessions looked at the relationships between sister ports and the successes they have achieved in greening their individual ports. While in the concurrent session delegates will hear how science and technology is being utilised to improve the water quality around ports.

Thursday’s keynote was taken by Patrick Verhoeven, Managing Director, Policy and Strategy, International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) where he will address "World Ports Sustainability."

Following the networking lunch and conference exhibition offering more value, delegates will have the choice of hearing about the sustainability successes of North American ports or about the utilisation of brownfield sites in port expansion.

The conference will conclude with an interactive session where delegates will consider the challenges and opportunities of greening ports, terminals and shipping with findings being analysed and published for delegate consumption after the conference.
