Kravis Post-Doctoral Fellow
Environmental Defense Fund
P. Grace Tee Lewis is a Kravis Post-Doctoral Fellow working in the Office of the Chief Scientist at Environmental Defense Fund. Dr. Tee Lewis’ research focuses on air pollution and its impact on human health, particularly in environmental justice communities. By analyzing and mapping vessel-specific emissions along the 50-mile Houston Ship Channel, she is identifying critical areas for mitigation efforts at port and terminal facilities. A trained epidemiologist, Dr. Tee Lewis plans to evaluate risk of cardiovascular and respiratory outcomes resulting from commercial marine vessel activity in the Houston Ship Channel. She also played a central role in EDF’s mobile air quality mapping work in the Houston area by developing a data-driven ranking system to design sampling routes.
Dr. Tee Lewis has a PhD from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Epidemiology with concentrations in Environmental Health Science and Biostatistics. She also holds degrees in Toxicology and Biochemistry. She is a Houstonian who loves travel and knitting.
