Australian port managers need to take on board the emerging influence of the Green movement, and be prepared to engage with its political leaders.

Justin Di Lollo, Hawker Britton managing director, told the Ports Australia Conference that the Greens were now a valid force in Australian politics and while they would be at odds with some of the agenda of the ports and shipping industries there were areas where they could lend support, such as carbon emissions compared to other transport modes.
