Port and rail infrastructure in Guinea

07 Feb 2011

Environmental and socioeconomic impact assessment studies on new port and rail infrastructure in Guinea are about to get underway.

The port is envisioned as part of the development of a 100-million tons a year iron-ore transport and export system, which could be expanded to three times this capacity as large bulk commodity projects in Guinea continued to be developed.

Bellzone Mining said that it had established Kalia Logistics SA to oversee the development required to support exports from its Kalia mine. SGS Environment is to carry out the studies.
