Dutch port hull cleaning service
Dutch hull cleaning and inspection equipment company, Fleet Cleaner, has expanded its green hull cleaning services to all ports in the Netherlands.
The port sector is a new market for the company and it is reportedly the first in-port hull cleaning service to be available on in The Netherlands on a national scale.
The company recently secured its first in-port contract with the Chiquita België vessel in the Port of Flushing. The vessel was cleaned during loading and unloading at the terminal, so that the shipping company experienced no downtime during the cleaning process. During the process, slime and algae is collected by the cleaning unit with the collected wastewater carefully filtered in order to comply with environmental regulations.
Fleet Cleaner said that this method saves significant time compared to alternative cleaning methods with divers, where the ship has to be anchored outside ports, thus resulting in extra costs.
In addition to the extended availability of the hull cleaning service service, Fleet Cleaner also cooperates with various subcontractors to offer other hull maintenance services as well.
The hull cleaning services can now be combined with propeller polishing, which reduces fuel consumption even more for the shipping company, as well as class certified under water inspection by divers in order to extend dry docking.
Previous clients include Wagenborg's Vlieborg which was cleaned at the Port of Rotterdam, the Royal Dutch Navy and Marcor Stevedoring,
